Discover San Antonio Tlayacapan
The church is the focal point for religious festivities in this country where the majority of its people are Roman Catholic. During posadas at Christmastime, processions reenact Mary and Joseph’s search for lodging, and include carols, prayer, and piñatas. From Palm Sunday through Easter Sunday, processions, a via crucis and Passion Play are enacted. The saint’s day celebrations each June involve nine days of celebrations that culminate on June 13.
In keeping with its eclectic character, San Antonio is home of a nine-hole golf course on the mountainside.
Tobolandia takes its name from the huge toboggans or water slides that can be seen from the highway and the Libramiento. This popular water park fills up with families at the weekends. From the breathtaking water slides to a lazy river ride in an inner tube, Tobolandia can fill an entire day with fun.
Modest village homes boast delightful gardens and miradors that take advantage of the view. A number of new gated communities offer modern construction and 24 hour security with common pools, gardens, barbecue grills and clubhouses. Situated within the limits of San Antonio, El Dorado Private Residence Club has breathtaking views of the lake. It offers luxury villas and condos with the option of fractional ownership.
